Comitan Pedestal Bowl in Smoke Finish

$665.00
sold out

This large pedestal bowl makes a great centerpiece.

The combination of clear and black resin creates a fascinating smokey design that is visually beautiful and unique.

Fill it with decorative objects, floral arrangements or let it stand on its own.

Works in both modern and traditional spaces.

In pre-Hispanic times Comitán was known as Balún Canán, which in Spanish means "Place of the nine stars ” and was inhabited by a group of Tzeltal indigenous people. But it was not until 1486 that this territory was subdued by the Aztecs, who named it Comitán, a word that comes from the Nahuatl komitl-tlán, which means: “Place of fevers”.
